Cletus Reutzel, 88, of Jackson passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.
He was Born May 5, 1929, in his family’s house in Marble Hill, Missouri, son of Otto and Dora Reutzel. Cletus and Louella Stephens were married December 25, 1953, in Lutesville and she passed away on October 15, 2014.
Cletus farmed in Bollinger County until he started work on pipeline construction in 1953 for Pipeliners Local Union 798 for 30 Years and enjoyed traveling with his wife, he later worked building trades in the area and retired 1987. He took great pride in his yard and enjoyed fishing in his lake, being outdoors and cutting his own timber and fireplace wood. He took up welding at a late age for work and performed small jobs for others for pleasure. Cletus and Louella were members of Connection Point Church and enjoyed volunteer work at their church and Jackson Senior Center.
Loving survivors include two sons, Larry Reutzel of Norman, Oklahoma, and Randy Reutzel of Marietta, Georgia; a daughter, Linda (Toodie) Watson of Jackson; special friend Thelma Williams of Jackson; three grandchildren, Tyler (Ashley) Watson of Aiken, South Carolina, Kyle (Ashley) Watson of Jackson, and Samantha Watson of Cape Girardeau; and six great-grandchildren.
Cletus was proceeded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Louella Reutzel of Jackson; his parents, Otto and Dora Reutzel; three sisters, Ruby (Hadley) Kirkpatrick, Clodine (Wendel) Barks, Bonnie (Floyd) Grindstaff; and a brother, Orville (Devern) Reitzel.
Visitation will be Monday, November 27, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and from 10:00 AM until service time on Tuesday, at the Connection Point Church, 1506 S Farmington Rd, Jackson MO. 63755.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Connection Point Church, with Rev. Chris Vaught officiating. Burial will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill, MO.
